Battle Bosses Pledge Manager

Created by KessCo

Battle Bosses is a 2-6 player game with 6 epic Bosses, giant beings that utilize dice to gain Energy and Crystal resources. Through these resources, Bosses unleash devastating moves, spawn unique Minions to send into battle, and play cards to gain tactical advantage. For a limited time, the pledge manager makes available all of the exclusives, add-ons, and pledge tiers from our Kickstarter.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Special Thanks From The Kess Team!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Sep 17, 2018 at 05:09:08 PM

Congratulations everyone for a successfully funded campaign! We couldn’t have done this without your help. Throughout this campaign we fought hard and with your camaraderie, support and excitement for Battle Bosses, we were able to defeat the odds and make this milestone happen!

Battle Bosses has been a project of passion for us at the Kess Team and to be able to share this with you has been a great experience for us as well. Because of this, we want to thank you for sticking it through with us, believing in our vision and helping us get the word out any way you could. This said....

NIGHTMARE UNLOCKED!

That’s right! To celebrate our first successful Kickstarter campaign, all those who backed at the $120 Arena Tier will receive Nightmare as a 7th Boss absolutely free. This includes its miniature, minion mins, and all the components necessary for it to go head-to-head with your other 6 Bosses. For those who backed at the $30 Tournament Tier, he is now a selectable Boss from our roster when choosing which 2 Bosses you’d like to have in your tier.

PLEDGE MANAGER? YES WE WILL!

We will have a pledge manager available in about 2-3 weeks. This will allow you to upgrade your tier, include any add-ons you missed during the campaign and input your shipping information so you can close out your pledge. You’ll receive an e-mail from the Pledge Manager when it’s ready and we’ll also announce it here so that you’ll be in the know.

Once again, on behalf of the entire Kess Team, thank you very much for your support, excitement and encouragement during our campaign. We’ll be on a week break to rest and strategize, but will be back and ready for scheduled updates and continued highlights of Battle Bosses.

Final 24 Hour Sprint!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Sep 13, 2018 at 03:30:53 PM

.

Can you believe it? We're down to the final 24 hours of the Battle Bosses campaign and we are on the verge of snagging the stretch goal "Double Unlock"!

WHAT DOES THE $50K STRETCH GOAL UNLOCK MEAN?

Once unlocked, all tiers will now have upgraded Translucent Dice in place of the original standard Bonus Dice. Each boss will have their own colors represented with this free unlock.

At the same time, Nightmare will be unlocked! That means, for those who pledge as the "Arena Tier", you'll get Nightmare for free, giving you 7 Battle Bosses in total (that includes its 70mm+ Miniature and minion minis! For backers of the "Tournament Tier", you will then be able to select Nightmare as one of your 2 choice bosses since Nightmare will be added to the roster of available bosses.

DON'T FORGET THOSE ADD-ONS

Since it's the the final stretch of the campaign, pledging for add-ons now will help the campaign get further into funding and towards Stretch Goals. Click on the image below to see how to pledge for add-ons and get a brief description of what each one is all about.

With your help and support we made an awesome breakthrough and blew through funding. Let's band together and make these 24 hours count!

Battle Bosses Funds... Onwards to the stretch goals!
over 5 years ago – Wed, Sep 12, 2018 at 12:46:30 PM

As we were about to post this update with a steadfast cheer that we are less than $200 away from funding, a notification pops up on our Kickstarter app that turned this dream into a reality. That's right, congratulations everyone.... Battle Bosses has funded!

So with about 50 hours to go, let's do what we can to share, tweet, and pass the word around so that we can build more momentum once the 48 hour kickstarter reminders go out, and crush some Stretch Goal unlocks!

And as a small teaser for the upcoming scramble, here's a peek at something from out of the Void.

Beautiful Nightmare

Nightmare lurks around the battlefield, manipulating the minds of enemy bosses and minions, using their own abilities against them.

Nightmare's shadow minions can possess enemy minions, which allows Nightmare to control them and use them for Nightmare's own nefarious ends.

Nightmare also specializes in making opponents discard cards from their hand, reducing their options and feeding off of their lost cards. Fighting against Nightmare can be, well, a nightmare, never knowing whether your own minions might turn against you, or you might have to discard a key card.

If you haven't done so already, be sure to like us on Facebook and thumb us on Board Game Geek. Shares and like on Kicktraq help as well. We'll keep pushing out demoes and getting Battle Bosses in front of as many eyes as we can before the campaign end. Let's rock these next couple of days and finish strong. See you in the next update!

Creating a Legend
over 5 years ago – Mon, Sep 10, 2018 at 05:24:26 PM

With the forward moving momentum we’ve had, we were excited that several backers wrote in inquiring if we would open up a “Create your Boss” tier for a future Battle Bosses series line. Initially we were a bit hesitant since we didn’t know what that tier would entail, but after discussing in further detail with those interested backers, we’re excited to offer up 4 limited tiers that we feel would give dedicated backers a chance to flex their creative design prowess.

This tier includes:

  • Design the concept behind 1 Boss Character and have it illustrated by our art team, then sculpted to its likeness.
  • Design the concept behind your Boss’s Minion and have it illustrated by our art team, then sculpted to its likeness.
  • Create your Boss’s character lore and expand on how they fold into the Battle Bosses universe.
  • Co-design the mechanical identity for your Boss and Minion with the Battle Bosses design team.
  • Join the entire Kess Team to dinner and a night of gaming as we playtest your Boss
  • Get a framed picture of your created Boss and Minion, signed by the Kess Team
  • Receive a proof copy of your Boss and Minion once it it’s ready for mass production with an official Certificate of Authenticity
  • 1 Battle Arena Tier
  • 1 of Each Add-On

With hints of some of the ideas we heard from some of you, we’re extremely excited to see what you come up with and look forward to having the opportunity to bring to life your Boss and Minions.

3v3 Mode Spotlight and Boss Breakdown on Mecha Bot!
over 5 years ago – Sat, Sep 08, 2018 at 03:51:52 PM

Battle Arena Mode

In our previous update, you got an inside look at how Battle Arena Mode came to be. Many of you have expressed how exciting having this 3v3 mode included in the Battle Arena Tier is, especially since it comes with a large, double-sided game board specifically for it, neutral camps, neutral monsters, pet tiles/dashboards, and an exciting way to incorporate Battle Bosses in a MOBA inspired mode of play! We even had the opportunity to show it off to some of you at GenCon and on a live stream during this campaign.

Returning from the Labor Day weekend, it's hard not to keep thinking of gathering some friends to play. Fortunately, we shot some video of our Battle Bosses League that'll hold us over until we can play again.

.

Mecha Bot

Mecha Bot excels in defensive combat, setting up deadly minefields to hide behind, while bombarding enemies at range with high tech weaponry. Mecha Bot's modular drones are able to form armor plating, land mines, or whatever Mecha Bot needs to hold the line against evil.

.

Base abilities

Mecha Bot’s basic abilities are Scrap, which allows them to discard a card and sacrifice a drone to make a land mine which sacrifices itself to damage any unit that moves into its space and stops them from moving for the rest of the turn, and their ultimate, The Singularity, which makes six drones.

.

Deck Breakdown -Key Cards

Mecha Bot’s key card is Battery. Battery gives Mecha Bot an extra energy every turn, which is very important since Mecha Bot has a powerful ultimate as well as many upgrades that give them new high-energy cost abilities.

.

One such upgrade is Automation. It gives Mecha Bot the ability to pay 4 energy for 3 drones, which means you are getting a free drone every time you would normally make 2!

.

Other than overwhelming opponents with Drones, Mecha Bot’s main source of damage is cards like Mortar. Mortar allows Mecha Bot to spend 2 energy to deal 1 damage to an enemy boss that is 2 or more spaces away. If Mecha Bot can keep enemies at a distance, Mortar will unleash a lot of damage on them!

.

Once Mecha Bot gets far away, it's important to make sure opponents keep their distance. The best card for doing that is Land Mines, which places 3 of them on spaces adjacent to Mecha Bot.

.

Arena Mode Role

In Arena mode, Mecha Bot is a good defensive boss because of their ability to place Land Mines. Mecha Bot also excels at taking out neutral monsters due to their variety of long-range attacks.
